Axos ONE combines checking and savings in one digital bundle. Checking has no monthly maintenance, overdraft, or NSF fee, no minimum opening deposit, and no minimum balance requirement. It can earn a 0.51% promotional APY when deposit and average-balance conditions are met, alongside early direct deposit, broad ATM access, mobile tools, and 24/7 phone support.
Axos ONE Checking can suit salaried employees and benefit recipients who naturally meet the $1,500 direct-deposit and balance route, as well as customers able to satisfy the $5,000 eligible-deposit and balance route. It is also relevant to digital-first users who value remote deposits, bill pay, transfers, card controls, and round-the-clock phone support. A different structure may fit customers seeking stand-alone checking, frequent in-person cash service, or an unconditional checking yield.
Axos ONE removes several recurring charges and branch dependencies. It has no minimum opening amount, no monthly maintenance charge, and no account-specific overdraft or NSF fee. Axos advertises more than 95,000 fee-free ATMs, while the account agreement provides up to $10 in monthly domestic ATM operator-fee reimbursements. Early direct deposit and the conditional APY add value, although neither should be presented as automatic.
The paired savings relationship can simplify separating spending from reserves, but it means Axos ONE is not a stand-alone checking product. The optional expanded deposit-insurance program is tied to eligible savings and requires enrollment; it does not automatically provide $2.5 million of checking coverage.
The Axos app supports mobile check deposit, direct-deposit setup, internal and external transfers, person-to-person payments, bill pay, wires, statements, debit-card management, and alerts. Planning tools can link outside accounts, categorize spending, display financial trends, and monitor a credit score. Secure messaging, biometric identification, and 2-step authentication on a new device are included.
Axos ONE Checking includes a debit card, ATM access, ACH transfers, wires, mobile check deposit, paper checks, statements, bill pay, and stop-payment requests. Online statements and incoming wires are free. The June 2026 fee schedule lists $5 for a paper statement, $35 for an outgoing domestic wire, $45 for an outgoing international wire, and $10 for an official check.
The following checking terms were verified on July 27, 2026. Rates are variable, can change without prior notice, and may be modified or removed. Fees may reduce earnings.

These ancillary charges are taken from the Axos Personal Deposit Account Agreement and Schedule of Fees, effective June 25, 2026. The general schedule lists an NSF fee for products where it applies, but the Axos ONE-specific account description expressly waives NSF and overdraft fees.
Personal-banking phone support is available at (888) 502-2967, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Secure messaging is available after login, and Evo provides virtual-assistant chat. Axos does not list a public general email address for personal deposit service. The product page presents rate conditions before application, while less common charges appear in the formal deposit agreement.
The free Axos All-In-One app is offered for iOS and Android. Apple displayed 4.7 out of 5 from about 19,000 ratings on the research date, while Google Play displayed 4.6 stars. These ratings cover the wider Axos app and can change; individual reviews include both positive experiences and complaints about reliability or service interactions.
Axos Bank is FDIC-insured under certificate 35546. Standard coverage is generally $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category, and same-category deposits across Axos Bank brands are aggregated. Axos describes SSL encryption, firewalls, inactivity logout, unusual-activity monitoring, biometric access, and 2-step authentication on new devices.
An optional program can provide up to $2.5 million in additional FDIC insurance through eligible savings accounts by allocating funds among participating insured banks. Enrollment is required, and coverage depends on ownership category and other deposits at each receiving bank.
The application and funding steps are documented across Axos’s onboarding page, product disclosures, funding guide, and account agreement. The public flow was inspected without opening or funding an account because completion requires personal identity information and bank approval. The deposit agreement states that an account should be funded within 30 days or Axos may close it.
Axos ONE Checking is a credible choice for digital-first U.S. customers who can use a paired savings account. Its practical strengths are $0 monthly maintenance, overdraft, and NSF fees; broad ATM access; early direct deposit; a full-featured app; and 24/7 phone support. The 0.51% APY adds value when normal cash flow meets the conditions, but the 0.00% base APY, cutoff date, bundled structure, and ancillary fees should remain visible in the decision.

To receive the promotional APY on both Axos ONE® Checking and Axos ONE® Savings, the Axos ONE® Checking account must meet both of the requirements in either Option 1 or Option 2 below during the Qualification Period:
Option 1:
Option 2:
If both of the requirements in either Option 1 or Option 2 above are met during the Qualification Period:
The Qualification Period begins on the first business day of the month and runs through the 25th of the month. If the 25th of the month is followed by a non-business day, the average daily balance will be calculated including the following non-business day(s). Any qualifying deposits or qualifying direct deposits received after the 25th of the month will count toward the next Qualification Period. The Qualification Period for new accounts will begin on the day the account is approved. New accounts opened on or after the 25th of the month will be eligible to earn the promotional APY starting in the following month.
A direct deposit is an electronic ACH deposit of your paycheck or government benefits, such as Social Security, Disability, etc. International paychecks, international government benefits, other deposits (i.e., real time payments, online banking transfers, ATM and mobile check deposits, etc.), or person-to-person payments are not considered a direct deposit.
Qualifying deposits only include deposits from the following eligible sources: (i) ACH transfers from external accounts, (ii) inbound wire transfers from external accounts, (iii) mobile check deposits, (iv) real time payments. Qualifying deposits do not include: (i) transfers internal to the bank (i.e., transfers between an account holder’s Checking and/or Savings account), (ii) interest payments, (iii) promotional bonuses, (iv) credits, reversals, and refunds, (v) ATM deposits.
Both accounts must be in an open and active status on the 25th of the month and on the date the interest is paid to receive the promotional APY for that statement cycle. If either account closes during the Qualification Period, neither account will be eligible to earn the promotional APY for that statement cycle. Account transactions may take one or more business days from the transaction date to post to the account.
